We are going green for the 2012 Super Bowl!!! The city of Indianapolis is host to the next Super Bowl and one of the awesome initiatives Host Committee has started is 1st & Green to help offset the impact of hosting the 2012 Super Bowl on our enviroment! I signed my household up today and we already offset 390 pounds of carbon...I wish I could just as easily offset pounds on my arse that easily!

As I said in a previous post I had a pretty horrific year so let me explain while I'm in the sharing mood. I found out I was pregnant on December 3, 2009. It was a surprise but after a month of pure shock our hearts started opening and we felt blessed to receive such a miracle. A miracle because after 7 years together we had never even had a scare and then two days after my Papaw died somehow we conceived. I say "somehow" but trust me, I know how it works! lol I shared the news with my family and to my amazement everyone was thrilled and the farther along I got, the more my belly and baby grew the more we all got anxious to meet my little one. I drove people crazy picking out all the "best of" items for our registries because I truly spent days and weeks researching baby items. When I couldn't find the perfect crib and changer in my state of Indiana I just picked what I needed up in Louisville, Kentucky! NBD!!! Today I am the mother of son I never got to meet. My heart is broken into a billion tiny little pieces and live everyday just trying to smile through all the pain. I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy with no apparent issues, just that at some point inside me he died. I was 2 days away from August 3rd (his due date) when this happened and I still find it cruel that I made it so far to lose so much. I suppose I am feeling down lately which is why I want to share my experience...hoping it well help me and maybe even help someone else (assuming someone actually reads this blog). Perhaps tomorrow will be a brighter day.

Scored tickets to the Colts playoff game this past Saturday thanks to my good friend from the job place. Decked in our Colts gear...my $65 Dallas Clark jersey (man that was expensive for an injured players jersey) and overjoyed with excitement to cheer on our home team we made it to the game. Nevermind we were an hour late (should have been a sign). The game was awesome and super exciting. Well, right up until the last damn second!!! Boo hoo we lost because we allowed good field position and they had enough time for a field goal...it sucked and in all actuality it still sucks! Us Hoosiers take our sports very seriously. You could have heard a pin drop on the car ride home. Silence = Devastation with my Ky.

Well, I apologize I have lacked on the whole New Years Resolution thingy but I will explain, as it was explained to me by the lovely Ellen our adorable, dancing daytime talk show host. When I said New Years Resolution it doesn't mean I will start at the actual "new year". It means like, a couple of weeks after the "new year". We need a week to recover from Christmas, a week to recover from New Years so here we are, this is the actual week for starting your lofty New Years Resolutions. Now, as for why I could not exactly start Monday, which is the preferred day for beginning with change; I was basically trying to get over being a somewhat more light-hearted version of Linda Blair in the Exorcist.

Yes, the Exorcist. At approximately 10 pm on Saturday, Jan. 10th I return from a nice birthday dinner for my dear friend Monique at her favorite establishment that sounds a bit like hennihanas. I feel so bloated and miserable even though, I didn't eat very much at all. Nonetheless, I go into my cute little bathroom and there it all begins. Folks, I am almost a thirty year old and in all my life, I have only heard stories like this, though never actually experienced for myself until now. I now, this is a family blog so I won't go into details, but OMG!!! I figure I lost about 10 pounds in fluid and 3 pounds in some other forms in the time span of no more than 4 hours. I wish this upon no one and pray that since I am now able to say that I have experienced this phenomenon I will be blessed enough to say I only experienced that once in my so very precious life.

Mommie and Me

The Perfect Cake

Saturday continued the Birthday festivities. My grandma picked me up (yes, she picked me up). We then went to Mom's so grandma could see the house in its redesign deconstruction (yes, grandma was actually allowed to step foot in Mom's house). My mom never lets anyone in her house because it is usually not together, but since I have made her start remodeling she has actually moved all her crap into one or two locations...the garage and the barns! Grandma loved the paint colors (we recently had all the walls repainted in the house). Yes, I do believe that pretty much each room is a different color, but it all looks darn good if I don't say so myself!!! The Bamboo floor is at home in the garage, waiting to be laid...hopefully sometime this week! Have I mentioned how much I love doing this stuff? Okay, back to the days adventures...We all hopped in the car and went to Menards to buy the base trim and quarter rounds as well as the hardware for all the new doors coming. Beautiful, horizontal 5-panel doors. Grandma injured herself with a strip of moulding and was bleeding in the aisle of Menards, causing me to nearly pass-out (thanks Grams)! After all this, we let Steve (mom's roomate) take all the stuff home, while we went and ate dinner at Famous Dave's. The best BBQ ever, the cole slaw was excellent too. Not too keen on the other sides, but I haven't had BBQ like that in some time. I taught Grandma how to eat Rib Tips, and she realized that perhaps they aren't her thing (not a fan of the fat)! But they were awesome along with the ribs, chicken, and chopped pork. Mom had some brisket and liked it a lot, but I just wasn't a fan of it. Not sure what Brisket is, but not my favorite taste. Anyway, if you have one nearby...give it a try! Later that evening Mom helped me get ready for my night out with the girls for my birthday. She did my make-up and helped me decide on my outfit. I even got her to take some cute pics with me after she was done working her magic on my face! How adorable are we?!? I love you Mommie, you are the BEST!

Yesterday, I turned 28 years old! Thanks to everybody who wished me a happy day!!! I woke up to a card from my boyfriend (I have been trying to explain to him for years how important the card is to us ladies). So, the card was good, an Emily Matthews card...very mushy, just what I like!!! Oh, I forgot the day before my birthday, he gave me flowers (ahhh) as my "pre" birthday present! How sweet is he?!? Anyway, the day went on as normal with work although I did have a couple of gifts from my coworker and boss. My coworker gave me a GC to Starbucks(just to keep the crack habit alive) and my boss gave me a card with $25 cash!!! Gotta love my peeps. lol. I left early to go to my dentist appointment and then went home. I sat around for awhile and decided I would never make it out to dinner if I didn't have something to wear, which of course I didn't happen to have any clothing in my entire house suitable! I headed off to shop, hitting Stienmart, Marshall's, Target, and finally Old Navy. Of course any other time I would have been able to find the perfect frock at any of these stores (my regular shopping grounds). All I found was a shirt, black and completely plain, of course!!! The funny thing is I didn't find this perfect plain black shirt until Old Navy, which was the very last stop possible. I made it back just in time to jump in the shower and start the whole beauty re-vamping for the evening. By some miracle I was actually ready to go by 8:15 pm and our reservations were for 8:30 pm. We left at 8:20 pm and arrived at Morton's at 8:41 pm. This was my first at Morton's, I am now a huge fan!!! All the food, except the Morton's Salad, was excellent. I just didn't like the salad because they served it with 2 little anchovies on top...YUCK! Dinner was great and my other present was Burberry sunglasses (see above: plain, simple, black, of course). They look awesome on me...Love 'em. I just hate to think of how much he paid for the damn things, I do have bills that could be paid instead!!! But I needed a new pair because I stepped on my other ones and they broke. Keep saying..."its not your money"! So, great time, great gifts, great company!!! Perfect evening! My friends have something planned for Saturday, so I will have more to talk about then! Sorry I don't have any pics, I forgot the camera.

So this is what happens when I get bored and feel like I've been sitting on my tushy too long. I put my makeup on and re-do my hair, grab the camera and have at it!!! I must say it is not such a bad thing...it stops me from eating when I'm bored, although I could opt to go over to the gym and hop on the treadmill! This is much more fun, especially when I like the way the pictures are turning out! It also helps to cut of the rest of my body!!! Also, incase you haven't noticed yet, I am turning in to Barbara Streisand a little. You see, I have recently realized that I too only want to be seen from the right side as this is my best side for pictures! I will never forget how crazy I thought Babs was when Rosie O'Donnell had to switch her furniture around on her show's set so that Babs best side was facing the audience!!! How funny, right?!? Not so much, I totally relate now!

So I have looked at the last picture of me being all cute and sexy. I am taking back control of my life!!! I am now a member of Jenny Craig. YAHOO! My goal is to lose 66 pounds and I officially begin tomorrow. I am so tired of feeling fat and disgusting with no energy at all. I use to dance and sing and run around doing stuff...I am not sure what, but I never use to be at home. Now all I do is lay around the house. Well, I have had it and I am "going to the mattresses"!!! Okay...so I have been watching the Godfather and You've Got Mail way to much lately. Watch-Out Kirstie and Valerie...I am on the War Path! Wish me luck everyone :-)

My two best friends are sisters and they asked me to join them on their annual trip to visit family in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Hopkinsville is located in Western Kentucky and has a population of about 28,700. It was a 4.5 hour drive each way from home (Indianapolis). We left Friday morning (I was up at the butt crack of dawn, it was actually 4:51 am)and came home today at a more decent hour. I did have fun even though Hopkinsville is a lot more country than this city girl typically enjoys. It was sooooo hot and my allergies were kicking my butt the entire time! I was in heaven (food wise)...we ate Godfather's Pizza, Sonic, Captain D's, and of course BBQ. I tried mutton, which after finding out that it was sheep meat about made me vomit, especially now that I know it is typically from a young sheep. Regardless, everything was good, but I feel like I need to fast for a week because I am so bloated!!! I will say that Godfather's was my favorite food while their, they actually had a pizza buffet...oh how happy was I!!! So above are some pictures from the road for your enjoyment!

Recently, I came across a print of "Willow Branches" by photographer Bill Schwab as seen in the 1st picture. I fell madly in love with the mystery and beauty I saw in the photograph. I bought it for dirt cheap at Michaels and now I need to pick two others to hang along with it (2 more because you have to hang in odd numbers and my print isn't big enough on the wall by itself)! Please tell me which other two prints you think fit the best with "Willow Branches". I love that I have found a photographer that I can say is my favorite...it makes me feel so grown up!!!

My mother is nuts...I have seen more and more this year where I get it! She has started planning our next trip as a family. We will be heading to the beautiful Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in late September or early October. Now we just have to figure out where we will be staying without causing my mother to have a complete breakdown! She owns a timeshare, my grandma owns a timeshare, the problem is they are completely different ones! My grandma informed my mother yesterday that she wouldn't be going anywhere if she wasn't using her weeks, therefore my mother began freaking out because if we all have to use grandma's than no one will vacation with mom! This is my mother being completely irrational! I, of course, will vacation with whomever, wherever!!! Evidently, I am not enough! Lets also talk discuss the use of the word "we" when talking about planning the vacation...Notice I said something about my mom planning our vacation, well this is never really the case! So who ends up really planning the vacation?!? That would be moi! After mom comes up with the initial idea, she then somehow conveniently freaks out and can't handle it anymore. Evidently because we all are people that can't commit to anything. PLEASE!!! I will commit to a vacation without even thinking about it first, now the others are a different story, but I did have to explain to her that my aunts at least have to look at their schedules! However, I have absolutely no excuses for my fabulous grandmother...after all she is retired, she should be able to go whenever she gets an itch! Although, she is contemplative and always has been...she all about the long pauses!!! I apologize if this entry was not quite clear and concise...but I am not in that sort of place at the moment!

1. How neat are the clothes you wear? Do you iron? Fold them promptly? Pull them out of the dirty laundry? The clothes I wear are pretty neat, I tend to hang everything except my t-shirts, workout clothes, and pajamas. I only iron when a quick go-round the dryer wont work. I must say that I do pull one pair of my jeans out of the dirty clothes at times but always throw them in the dryer with a fabric sheet before I put on...does that really make it okay?

2. How do you make your bed? Hospital corners? All over the floor? Or somewhere in between? Making my bed just consists of pulling the covers up, no hospital corners for me! Whats the point of making your bed when your just going to get back in it?

3. Do you leave dirty dishes in your dishwasher? In the sink? On the counters? In other rooms? I do leave dirty dishes in the dishwasher, but really I clean them before I put them in (explain the point of that)! I also leave dirty dishes in the sink, but not on the counters or in other rooms...

4. Are your floors clean enough to eat off of or is there an old science experiment growing in the corner? I have carpet and I don't care how clean someone thinks their carpet is, it is not...so I would never eat off it!

5. How clean is the outside of your car? How about the inside? Is there junk in your trunk? The outside of my car is clean enough, but the inside needs emptied and swept...there is definetly junk in my trunk!

As a matter of fact, I still have not unpacked my two very large suitcases and I have been home since last Thursday afternoon. In my defense though, two hours after being back in my comfy, cozy home I turned ill for two days. Vomit and all...I know it's soooo pleasant! I sware it was all because I got off the plane in my flip-flops and it was 30 degrees and rainy, yucky outside. Whose body can adjust to that type of bologna after spending eight fun-filled, beautiful days in the sun?!? Why do I live in Indiana again?!?

Imagine you are on a first date and the person you are with has food stuck in his teeth. Would you tell him? What if he had food on his chin, nose or shirt?
I would have to tell him...there is no way I could...

What breakfast cereal best describes your personality?
Shredded Mini-Wheats...I am all over the place which is the "shredded" part and I am short, the "mini" part and the wheat doesn't have anything to do with my personality or maybe...if I had more whole wheat in my diet I wouldn't be so uncomfortable all the time which makes me a little cranky!!! Is that TMI?!?

Who would you most like to have a dream about tonight? What would you like to dream?
Right now, I am thinking I would love to dream about the guy from the movie "Prime"...Bryan Greenburg(see pic above)! I would like to dream about me being in a movie with him...I think I could have played Uma's part very well! Now if you ask again tomorrow it will probably be a completely different answer!

I try to go to bed by 10 pm but it never works or if I do actually get to bed by 10 pm I can never seem to sleep! I hate not being able to sleep and I wish I could go to bed and be asleep by 11 pm.

Wednesday, Kyle and I went to see Cirque du Soliel and then went to Ruth's Chris afterward because he wanted a "good" steak. The food was awesome, but what really made the meal memorable was that we sat in a booth next to eachother instead of across from eachother. My friends and I always make fun of people who do that because what is the point really...I never understood it, but it was actually a great way to enjoy our meal and eachothers company! (Gag Me)

What is your favorite part of spring? Your least favorite?
My favorite part of spring is the weather getting warmer!!! My least favorite part of spring is my horrible allergies, although I have found the honey trick quite relieving.

It's Severe Weather Preparedness Week this week. What's the most severe weather event you've experienced?
Blizzard of 78, but I wasn't born yet.

Daylight Savings Time begins next Sunday, three weeks earlier than in previous years. How do you feel about DST? Love it, hate it, couldn't care less?
I love it for work purposes, its easier keeping the times straight. I don't like for sleep purposes.

Now here is my Britney vent:
The rich and famous represent something untouchable, unreal, and unattainable to most people, therefore because of the innate curiousity within us all, there is a constant desire within most of us to see more, to learn more. With that being said, I truely feel like we as a society build these celebrities up so high, worship them almost, and then turn our backs on the monsters we create. Can you imagine having to live your everyday life with thousands of people always trying to get "the picture" or "the video"? Life is hard enough as a normal person that nobody really knows crap about. All of a sudden your 14 and an international pop star. So Britney has tried to live her life the only way she knows how. I want to just say that she had to go through all of these lifes lessons to be able to be the person she will be, the person she was meant to be in life. She will be okay, she will get her mind back, and she will be "ON TOP" of the charts again. She is very talented and is a great entertainer. Honestly, I feel like if she was surrounded be the people that really love and care for her, then some of the most recent incidents would not have happened. So basically, she needs true, genuine people by her side. I'm for hire :-)

I love Starbucks, evidently I am not alone. This morning while waiting in line at the drive thru I witnessed what could only be labeled "Blonde Soccer Mom Almost Attacks Other Starbucks Addict", or something like that. So, I am patiently waiting in line to place my regular order (Grande Non-Fat Cinnamon Dulce Latte, No Whip). As I look at the car behind me I see a man rolling his window down and talking to a person in another car. Being the nib-nose that I am, I turn the radio off so I can hear what is being said. A blonde, normal, mom looking woman is screaming and cussing out her window at the man behind me that he cut her in line, because he evidently did not follow the "drive around the building to get in the drive thru line" rule because he pulled in from the back entrance. Of course, he being a manly man couldn't just let her do all the yelling, so there they both are trying to yell over each other. Me being the wonderful "feel the love" person that I am was trying to get my door open so I could explain to the two Starbuck Lunatics, that it was too early in the morning for this type of outrage and really all it is, is coffee! I guess I could have just screamed it out of the window, but that would be just as crazy as them, right? But by the time I finally got the door to open, the blonde drove off...Now please tell me, if you are going to go through all that trouble why give up the fight? I really felt like I could have helped them with their anger. Honestly though, after this incident I truely feel like Starbucks is like Crack. Look what it does to people that can't get there hit!!!

Okay, for those who don't know...I really enjoy Justin Timberlake (JT). I am posting the trailer to his newest video "What Goes Around...Comes Around" to be debuted on MTV Sunday. Yes, I said "trailer" to his video...new concept for me that a music video needs a trailer. Scarlett Johansson is in it and in case you have been living under a rock...rumors were spreading that JT and Scarlett really kicked it off, leading me to believe this is the reason for hyping the video up so much (marketing ploy). Regardless, JT is extremely talented and I love the music he brings to the masses. So check it out!
